Corporate Advisory

Supporting international investors to access and execute transactions in the Australian market.

Alderton Bhudia advises international investors on inbound M&A and foreign investment into Australia, supporting market entry, acquisitions and transaction execution across the Australian mid-market.

Australia continues to attract strong interest from international investors seeking stable, high-quality opportunities across a range of sectors. However, executing transactions in a new market requires local insight, disciplined process management and an understanding of regulatory and commercial dynamics.

Alderton Bhudia advises international corporates, investors and financial institutions on inbound acquisition and investment activity in Australia.

We work closely with offshore clients to identify suitable entry strategies, whether through platform acquisitions, strategic investments or partnerships. This includes defining target parameters, identifying opportunities and managing the end-to-end transaction process within the Australian market.

Our network includes relationships with international banks, advisors and corporate stakeholders, enabling us to facilitate cross-border engagement and support transaction execution.

Inbound investors must also navigate Australia's evolving merger control environment. The ACCC's mandatory merger regime has been in effect since 1 January 2026, with further control and asset threshold changes applying from 1 April 2026. While foreign acquirers may also need to consider FIRB, the ACCC regime itself applies equally to domestic and international transactions by reference to the applicable thresholds. This reinforces the importance of early regulatory assessment, transaction structuring and timetable planning.
